Computers weren't always made of motherboards and CPUs. At one time, they were human! And at our Jet Propulsion Laboratory, human computers were a talented team of women who went on to become some of the earliest computer programmers. Details: http://go.nasa.gov/2eZhMmg

Astronaut Kate Rubins talks with MOTHERBOARD about her mission to the space station, her view, sequencing DNA in space, and the incredible research that she worked on. Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hj1IRvvvEg

Hot gas in the halo of our Milky Way galaxy is spinning in the same direction & comparable speed as the galaxy's disk, which contains our stars, planets, gas, and dust. This new knowledge sheds light on how individual atoms have assembled into stars, planets, and galaxies like our own, and what the future holds for these galaxies. Details:http://go.nasa.gov/2abNp6B

Our OSIRIS-REx spacecraft is on a mission to explore near-Earth asteroid Bennu, a carbon-rich body that may contain clues to the origins of life. An instrument on the spacecraft will look at the asteroid's spectral signature to detect organics and other minerals: https://youtu.be/aYmgc9XL_Vs
