CENTRAL PACIFIC - System 90E has now crossed into the Central Pacific

CENTRAL PACIFIC - System 90E has now crossed into the Central Pacific and has been redesignated as System 90C (C for central). It is still undeveloped. It is centered near 11.1 north and 141.2 west, about 1,085 miles southeast of the Big Island of Hawaii. It is moving to the west at 10 mph. NOAA's CPHC says "An area of showers and thunderstorms associated with the disturbance has persisted to the east and northeast of the circulation center for the past six hours. Environmental conditions are conducive for limited development of the system through today. After that, upper-level winds are expected to become unfavorable for tropical cyclone development." The CPHC gives it a low (20%) chance for development in the next couple of days. This is an image of the low pressure area from NOAA's GOES-West satellite today.
